ChildNet is happy to announce that we will be relocating our offices in Broward County to a larger facility.
'We have been in our current location since 2007 when we downsized from 3 sites into one location,' said ChildNet President & CEO Emilio Benitez. 'We were presented with the opportunity to have more space in a newer building at virtually the same cost and knew we had to make the move for our incredible staff who work so hard to ensure the safety and stability for children in care.”
The new space gives us 83,000 square feet of state-of-the-art office space, hurricane proof windows, back-up power supply and a structured parking garage. It will house all ChildNet Broward staff and SafePlace, our intake and placement center. The property is well located along McNab Road, just west of Powerline Road, with easy accessibility to Interstate 95 and the Florida Turnpike. ChildNet phone numbers will remain the same.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE STOLEN GIRLS … STOLEN DREAMS

Tackling the issue of human trafficking and looking for ways to help end it, Soroptimist International of Davie will host its second annual poster contest, “Stolen Girls … Stolen Dreams,” on
January 7, 2016 at Old Davie School Historical Museum. January is recognized as Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and the Davie club, in partnership with Soroptimist International of the Americas, has accepted the mission to educate the community about human trafficking. The artistic talent is provided by high school juniors and seniors (11th and 12th grade) from western Broward County schools. They are charged with creating poster size art that reflects their vision of the sorrows and tragedies associated with human trafficking. Judged by a panel of community leaders and arts advocates, the winners are awarded cash prizes and ribbons and the winning posters are reproduced for display at Davie Town Hall, Cooper City’s City Hall, Westfield Broward Mall, and local businesses. This year SI Davie will welcome Assistant U.S. Attorney Corey Steinberg as our guest speaker. In addition, Special Agents of the FBI will be presented with backpacks, assembled by SI Davie, that are filled with clothes, hygiene products and meal gift cards. These special backpacks are distributed by the FBI to rescued human trafficking victims around southeast Florida. The art contest is open to all Broward County high school juniors and seniors. Complete Rules & Entry Form can be downloaded fromwww.sidavie.org. The entry deadline is December 1, 2015. Soroptimist International of Davie is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls. Organized in 1983, the Davie club is part of an international organization of over 90,000 women with programs worldwide. In the past 30 years, Soroptimist International of Davie has supported a variety of service projects, gifting over $250,000 in awards to local women and girls, with additional in-kind resources and donations.
